I have divided the story of Wicked into 4 parts, which are:
1> the relationship and characteristics of the two main protagonists: Elphaba and Glinda
2>the triangle love between Elphaba, Fieory and Glinda
3>the struggle and disappointments inside Elphba when all her kindness was not appreciated by others
4>the which hunting begins and the break-downs inside Elphaba’s heart
Below are some early version of the posters
1> To indicate their opposite characteristics, I thought of using positive and negative effects to highlight the different personalities of Glinda and Elphaba.
2> Using handwritten type to create the flow of romantic feelings
3> cubes can indicate the different sides that Elphaba is facing or presenting to the publics
4> the witch hunting
However, many of the forms did not seem to work. Therefore, I have made some changes to adjust its presentation method.
Instead of using cubes, which doesn’t fit into the rest of the series. I decide to create a mess of words to show the struggle that Elphaba is facing within herself.
Instead of using hand-written type to speak of Romance. I followed the formal central display method to create the Mid-century love-letter-like format to state the restriction and difficulties happening in this triangle love.
